Our project was to come up with a campaign that we will create an event around and raise awareness of said cause. our group chose to raise awareness around recycling which in our opinion is a very important cause.

i was  researcher during this project and was tasked with finding information about climate change, how recycling impacts our planet as well as how Britains recycling campaigns differ from the rest of the world.

I also want to understand Winchester, especially the university, recycles and currently rises awareness.

we have rented a space outside the su and are currently designing various activities for students to do that are both interactive and informative.

i believe our campaign has been well received however i wish we had more guidance from our PM as we were not given deadlines until a day or 2 before she wanted it. Further more me and the rest of my group had to book the space and organise what extra things we wanted such as the paddling pool for our activity.

So making a podcast was a lot easier than i anticipated and a lot of fun.

i think it was easier because each one of our group delivered on our job roles on time as well as worked together to make it the best we could do.

furthermore i would love to explore podcasts more because they can be so personal to what you are interested in and cost nothing to produce if you just want to keep it in a simplistic form.

So today we both started recording our audio, selecting background music and even creating our jingles which i got to create.

I have realised just how short a three minute podcast really is and to keep it interesting to our young audience target base we have to limit the amount of factual news styled content and create a more engaging podcast.

We also decided to add a interactive element through social media interaction so that our primary target audience will feel more evolved within the podcast.

Furthermore I’ve decided to use audacity to edit and construct this podcast because it is free and i can apply it to my home laptop to spend as much time on this as possible.

So i was utterly terribly about updating my last production blog but my aim is to keep this a lot more updated.

During week one and two we picked the topic of R Kelly within the music industry and his news. So far the script has been written by josh and approved by all of us and all research has been collected and compiled.

Furthermore we have all been listening to Guilty Feminist podcast as well as others so we can all see a range of styles and so i can understand how to edit it more thoroughly.

Today we start recording our sound clips which will be compiled and edited by me, im aiming to have it all edited by Friday.

so on Monday the 10th of December i arranged to film with 6 people, all weekend i emailed back and forth with my group as well as my Interviewees to come up with the most suitable times for them to arrive to Medicroft 16 which i had already booked earlier in the week between 12 and 3. I got there at 12 but unfortunately the room was being used because a class ran over, luckily for me i hadn’t planned on interviewing anyone until 12:15 so none of my interviewees were impacted massively.

i allowed myself 15 minutes with each interviewee but only need 10 so none of my work was rushed and because of our simple format editing was a lot simpler than i expected.

when editing both me (content creator) and laila were present and made all the decisions on how to structure our edit, what clips to use and the music to underlie all of it. luckily we worked well together and i believe we worked very well with what we had. next time however i would interview people in various age ranges as well as faculty, we had planned this originally but due to filming when all our other deadlines were finding people who had also finished was hard to do.

So it’s 35 minuites until were meeting up to set up and film and all my interviewees cant make it. i also posted it within various groups but there has been no traction so far this is our first main problem to figure out as a team and brainstorm better ideas in how to move forward .
